Happy Fall to one and All.
I just realized it has been 11 months since anything has been posted to my blog. I must take the blame for the lack of writing. This has been a difficult year, but productive. I caught the flu on Christmas Day. Some days I thought I was going to die…other days I wish I would, but I eventually began to feel human around the end of February. I have yet to get my strength back, but I am working on it.
In March, I fell on a concrete inclined ramp. I messed up the left side of my face from temple down to my chin and was concerned enough that I went to the eye doctor to make sure I had no damage to my eyes, and to the dentist to make sure I didn’t crack a tooth or a bone in my mouth. All was well, except the x-ray discovered an abscess in the gum…directly over one of the two teeth holding my partial bridge.
I was lucky and he was able to drill through the bridge and tooth, clean out the infection and repack the tooth without additional problems.
Needless to say, I had a lot of time sitting at home. I began writing once again. This year, I produced two books, Death’s Retribution, and Heart of a Dragon. These two works were written, edited, and ready for publication in July and August. I found a wonderful book designer living in my area that created the covers, designed the interior and uploaded the books for a reasonable price.
I have completed a draft of another novella and completed a self-edit, my editor and I are completely revising an E-short story written in 2011 that will probably end up as a possible novella. Two other short stories are under construction.
I have attended a few small book signings during the summer, and have two major events coming up in September and November. Penned Con will be held in St. Louis September 21st , 22nd, and the St. Louis Indie Book Fair will be a one day event on November 3rd.
To everyone, continue writing, self-editing, but when you are satisfied with the work, find yourself a good professional editor to review your work. I have a great independent editor for my dark fiction. Her name is Sandy Maue and she is on Face Book and has a Web Site. She is reasonably priced and will work with you to help you meet your needs for publication.
Until next time. Stay Healthy and Keep Writing.
