About John Smith
John always loved monsters and horror. When he wrote for pleasure his books were filled with vampires, werewolves and things that go bump in the night. Degreed in Journalism, he ended his military career as an award winning journalist in the Air Force. In 1992, he bought a Harley and wrote articles promoting motorcycling. He further honed his skills writing advertising for newspapers. He never lost his love for Dark Fiction and wrote story after story for pleasure, and at last for publication.He contributed to Words, An Anthology of Short Stories in 2011. Published his First book Nightmares of a Madman (2011) edited and produced A Dark and Stormy Night, an anthology (2014). His second book of short stories, Dark Dreams (2015) and contributed to The Write Stuff, an anthology (2015). His short stories Spirit Dagger, a paranormal romance, Colonial Scum, a tale of revenge and honor and Hungry Things, a fantasy tale (all 2014) are on Kindle and other sites. Tainted Blood (2017) is his first Novel. He is also a contributing writer to the Carlinville Writers Guild Anthology More Good Stuff (2017).
John is currently working on additional 2 novels and several short stories. He lives in Southern Illinois with his Basset Hound, Barkley P. Howl.

John is also available for speaking engagements and is open to book signings throughout the greater St. Louis and Metro East areas.He is willing to travel greater distances.
